Hi! I'm Myth Kitty and on this blog I will be talking to you guys about Chinese mythology!!! I was born in California and raised in New York. I am also a cat enthusiast. In my free time I read Chinese mythology and interpret it for you guys! In this blog I will be talking about creation myths and occasionally a bit of history. I hope you guys enjoy!

  2. A long time ago, they may or may not have believed it. But nowadays, it is just stories my parents tell to me

Hou Yi Shoots 9 Suns (Yes, Suns)

Once upon a time, there were ten suns. They each took turns going out and bringing the people warmth. These ten suns were all brothers. When one of the suns went out, The others would relax, play, and do random things suns do. Then,one day, they came up with an idea that will get them killed. Going out together. Now that may sound weird to you, but they would parch the land if the came out together. In fact, they even had restrictions for that. But nooo, they just had to make that decision, and the next morning they all went out to play baseball, just kidding, they went out and did things that suns do. This lasted for quite a while. Niu Lang and Zhi Nv Part I

Niu Lang was a unfortunate child, his parents died at an early age, so he was taken in by his aunt and brother. But, they treated him badly, and didn't let him wear warm clothes or eat until he was full. They also made him do a lot of work. In the daytime, he farmed and took care of the family cow. At night, he slept with the cow in the stables. Niu Lang and the cow were exceptionally close, as though they were family. One day, his aunt told him that he must leave, and he could take the cow with him. Niu Lang was very happy to leave that place and to take the cow with him. He told the cow to go wherever he wished and they could start  a home there. The cow stopped in a pasture near a lake. A couple days after they stopped, the cow spoke to Niu Lang. The cow said: " Go to the lake tomorrow and take the pink robe. This robe will get you a beautiful wife. " The next day, Niu Lang followed the cow's directions and saw the pink robe. He quickly snatched up the robe ...
